Get your 90 days in Before Your EHR Upgrade
April 10, 2017
Written by Patty Kosednar
All EHR Incentive Programs require an upgrade to the 2015 version of your EHR this year. As you know, that is a huge endeavor for your organization to take on. Do yourself a favor and choose your MU 90 day reporting period for BEFORE your upgrade. You will have enough issues to deal with after your upgrade; don’t make meaningful use one of them.
What to do now:
- Check out the changes for both the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive programs for 2017 (see a summary of these changes in our blog dated 3/29/17)
- Run your 2017 objective and CQM reports and verify your current performance
- Work with staff to improve needed measures and complete needed tasks
- Register for our MU webinar on 4/19 to get all the details on program changes and a full list of tasks needed for 2017.
With so many program changes this year including MIPS, CPC+, the EHR Incentive programs, IQR, COP etc, and then throw an EHR upgrade into the mix, we recommend you try get this one out of the way early and make your year a little easier.
