Get CMEs While Learning QPP

We know eligible clinicians are eager to get a handle on the Medicare Quality Payment Program, how to participate and how to be successful in it. Well, now you can learn more about it—while earning continuing education credits!
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) wants you to be successful with the Quality Payment Program (QPP) and the Merit-based Incentive Payments System (MIPS). That’s why—in addition to mobilizing quality improvement organizations to offer free support and technical assistance—CMS has also launched a series of online QPP courses.
These self-paced courses about the QPP are available through the Medicare Learning Network® (MLN) Learning Management System (LMS). So far, CMS has released four QPP-related courses.
- Quality Payment Program in 2017: Pick Your Pace (25 mins; posted March 2017)
Learn whether your medical practice needs to participate in the QPP in 2017 and identify the basic steps for participating in the program. This course also covers the factors to consider when deciding how to pick a pace in the program.

Learn about the origin and goals of Medicare’s QPP, recognize the four performance categories within MIPS, identify the three criteria to be considered for an Advanced Alternative Payment Model (APM) and use resources available for QPP.

Learn about the Improvement Activities performance category requirements and how this category fits into the larger QPP, the steps you need to take to report Improvement Activities data to CMS and the basics about scoring.

First-time participants will need to register for the MLN LMS before being able to access the online courses. Mountain-Pacific has developed a one-page handout with information about how to create an account, log into your account and find the QPP courses.
