Helena, Mont., – Mountain-Pacific Quality Health announces the opening of
a new office on the island of Guam.
Mountain-Pacific is a Quality Improvement Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QINQIO)
that holds federal contracts from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services with the
goal of improving health care. By partnering with health care providers, practitioners,
stakeholders and patients, Mountain-Pacific aims to achieve better care and healthier populations
while lowering health care costs.
Guam, the largest island in Micronesia, has roughly 160,000 residents and is located in the
northwest Pacific Ocean. Mountain-Pacific’s new office will serve as a resource center for
Medicare members and providers in the region.
“Mountain-Pacific has served the Medicare population in Guam in some capacity since 1997,”
said Sara Medley, Mountain-Pacific’s CEO. “The new office in Guam, staffed by three part-time
Guamanians, demonstrates our commitment to improving the lives of the people we serve in this
region. We are honored to have this opportunity.”
Lance Segawa, Mountain-Pacific’s Hawaii state director (which includes the territory of Guam),
elaborated on what this office means for the residents of Guam and the surrounding
communities: “The establishment of the Guam office provides an accessible resource center for
Medicare members and community providers. The Guam office sends a positive message to the
community that Mountain-Pacific is committed to supporting the territories in improving health
care delivery for Medicare members and the broader community.”
Mountain-Pacific has offices in Montana, Wyoming, Alaska, Hawaii and now Guam.
