PQRS: 2016 PQRS Checklist

PQRS steps and decisions can be daunting for an organization or practice. So, to start out the new reporting year let’s keep it simple and look at the high level steps for participating in the PQRS program. This should serve as a guide to keeping you on track for tasks throughout the year.
- Determine program eligibility
- PQRS
- VBM
- Choose reporting method
- Group
- Individual
- Choose reporting mechanism
- Claims (This checklist does not include steps for claims reporting)
- EHR
- Confirm EHR is Certified and Available for reporting
- Registry
- Web Interface
- Select Registry for Registry Reporting or Engage with EHR Vendor for eCQM reporting
- If required, create EIDM account and get correct access/permissions
- Needed for registering as a group
- Needed for reporting via E.H.R (both individual and group)
- Needed for reporting via Web Interface
- Needed for obtaining your Physician Quality Reporting and QRUR report
- Review QRUR report for past performance baselines, list of eligible providers and VBM info
- Select CQMs to report
- Verify CQM reports and/or data is available in EHR or other extraction method
- Validate CQM data
- Monitor and track data/work on improving workflows, performance, etc on CQMs
- Test and verify data export format needed for reporting mechanism
- Export final data and submit to CMS
