ABS Funding – Sign Up with MT DPHHS
December 11, 2018
Sign up now for funding, resources and technical assistance to help support your antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. Contact Karl Milhon to get more information on the benefits of this program. We are urging you to sign up for this year’s efforts. Please attend the upcoming kick-off webinar for more information (See webinar details below).
Program Goal
To date, the program has 10 facilities that have signed up and we want 61. We need everyone. The outcome of this effort is to put in place state level antimicrobial stewardship that will improve patient outcomes and save money so hospitals can continually improve both their clinical services and the financial stability.
Program Future
The state collaborative program is at a turning point. We will have to apply for the next five years of funding this March and April. By having almost 100% participation, we have been able to establish a foundation for a true statewide success that has been noted nationally. We will need almost universal participation to use as leverage for more funding. It must be noted that we, as a state, are trying to move all of this forward WITHOUT Laws or Regulations but as a collaborative effort where everyone sees their own and their patients interests addressed. We have accomplished more than most states that do have laws and regulations addressing healthcare associated infections and antimicrobial stewardship.
