Helena, Mont., – Mountain-Pacific Quality Health will announce this year’s quality award winners during the September, 29 MHA Annual Convention and Trade Show in Billings, Montana at the Radisson hotel.
Community Hospital of Anaconda, Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby and Sidney Health Center will receive a Quality Achievement Award—Mountain-Pacific’s top award. Barrett Hospital and Healthcare in Dillon and Missoula’s St. Patrick Hospital will receive the Hospital Commitment to Quality Award.
Hospitals applying for a quality award are required to meet certain criteria outlined by Mountain-Pacific. Quality Awards are given to hospitals that demonstrate high performance in current national focus areas including Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) and Patient Experience of Care. This year, we have added a Healthy People 2020 component, Influenza Vaccination among Health Care Personnel. We have also expanded the criteria for Patient/Family Engagement.
Additionally we have added the Chasing Zero Award. This year’s Chasing Zero Award for sustained time periods with “zero” infections will go to Billings Clinic and St. Patrick Hospital. The Chasing Zero award though Antibiotic Stewardship will go to Barrett Hospital and Healthcare in Dillon and St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson.
We continue to require all award recipients to demonstrate evidence of strong executive leadership. “Recognizing hospitals for their unwavering dedication to providing high quality health care is at the heart of our award program,” says Christy Fuller, director of Mountain-Pacific’s Montana office. “We believe that hospitals receiving our awards demonstrate a solid commitment to providing services that set the bar for quality care in important aspects of patient care.”
